Gaius Hospital was especially designed for healthcare industry as result of a research project Design Guidelines for Health Care and Hospital Sanitary Facilities in collaboration with the Helsinki University of Technology and Department of Architecture of the Social and Health Care Technology and Construction Institute. In 2004 Gaius Hospital was awarded the National Ergonomics Award for its design.
